Areas of Activity
Azersun Holding’s areas of activity encompass a wide range of sectors, forming one of the largest production and trade ecosystems in Azerbaijan:
Food Industry – production of oils, canned goods, sauces, tea, sugar, dairy products, packaging, and other food items.
Agriculture and Agribusiness – cultivation of raw materials, development of agro-parks, and support for farming.
Packaging Industry – cardboard, paper, and metal packaging for both in-house and external producers.
Logistics and Distribution – transportation, warehousing, and supply of products across the country and abroad.

These sectors allow the holding to cover the entire cycle — from agricultural production and processing to distribution and retail of finished products.
History
After the collapse of the USSR and the transition to a market economy, Azerbaijan faced a severe decline in industry, especially in the food sector. Most factories closed, leading to product shortages and rising unemployment.
During this period, entrepreneur Abdolbari Gozal arrived in Azerbaijan, establishing İntersun’s representative office and supplying the market with essential products. His efforts were highly appreciated by Heydar Aliyev, who encouraged investment in industry and the creation of jobs — laying the foundation for the future Azersun Holding.
Since the early 2000s, the company has actively developed production and infrastructure: it opened the Masazyr Salt Plant, turning the country into a salt exporter; launched the Park Bulvar shopping center and the Bazarstore supermarket chain; and built modern food processing enterprises, including the Kürdəmir Dairy Plant and an industrial park in Sumgait.
Today, Azersun Holding is one of the largest players in Azerbaijan’s food industry, encompassing dozens of enterprises, ensuring the country’s food security, and making a significant contribution to exports and economic development.
