Ganja Sharab

About the Company
Gəncə Şərab is one of the oldest and most renowned winemaking enterprises in Azerbaijan, combining classical traditions with modern technologies. The winery produces a wide range of wines from local grape varieties, distinguished by their vibrant taste and the characteristic aroma of the Ganja region. The company’s products are valued for their quality and authenticity, representing the rich winemaking heritage of the country.

Production
The production at Gəncə Şərab is based on a combination of long-standing traditions and modern technologies. Grapes are delivered directly to the winery from regional plantations, where they are grown under the optimal climate conditions of the Ganja Valley. The raw materials undergo multi-stage sorting: selection by quality, ripeness, and sugar content.
The grapes are then gently pressed to preserve their natural aroma and structure. The fermentation process is automatically controlled, ensuring consistency of taste and product purity. The winery uses modern stainless steel tanks, where ideal fermentation temperatures are maintained.
After fermentation, wines are aged in specialized containers or oak barrels, imparting depth and harmony to the beverages. Strict quality control is applied at every stage — from raw material intake to the final bottling on a fully automated production line.
Thus, Gəncə Şərab’s production combines the ancient traditions of Ganja winemakers with a technological approach, creating wines of high quality and consistent excellence.
History
The history of Gəncə Şərab is deeply connected to the ancient winemaking traditions of the city of Ganja. This region has long been renowned for its fertile soils and unique climate, which produce local grapes of exceptional quality.
Industrial winemaking in Ganja began to develop actively in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when the first large-scale grape processing and natural wine production facilities appeared in the region. Over time, the enterprise strengthened its position as an important center of winemaking in the country.
Today, Gəncə Şərab continues these traditions, combining the expertise of Ganja’s master winemakers with modern technologies. The company produces a wide range of products — from table and vintage wines to dessert and blended wines. Special attention is given to the quality of raw materials: grapes are grown in nearby areas known for their vineyard plantations.
Gəncə Şərab remains a symbol of Ganja’s centuries-old wine culture, blending history, craftsmanship, and the natural richness of Azerbaijani land in its beverages.
